Adoption Guidelines
We're a foster-based rescue — no brick-and-mortar shelter. Every animal lives in a loving home until they find their forever family.
Adoption Fees
As an organization of foster homes without a brick-and-mortar shelter, we transport our rescued pets to and from adoption events, meet-n-greets, vet appointments, new foster homes, and home visits. Consequently, gas costs are a heavy burden on our resources. Effective September 1, 2011, our adoption fees are determined on a case-by-case basis. Adoption Requirements
You must be 21 years of age or older, with proper proof of age.
Proof of your current address and telephone number is required.
If renting or residing in a condo, you must show proof that you are permitted to keep a pet on the premises.
All members of the household must be present for the adoption.
A home check is required by Cry For Help Rescue.
Spaying or neutering is required if the animal is not already altered.
A legally binding Adoption Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.
If at any time you are unable to keep the pet or provide proper care, it must be returned to Cry For Help Rescue by contacting us at [email protected].
5 Easy Steps to Adopt
Select Your New Family Member
Review our list of adoptable pets to learn more about each animal. When you see your new best friend, contact Jean Lazzaro at [email protected]. Jean will answer any questions you may have. We'll share any known history, observed behaviors, and veterinary treatment for the pet you're considering — and learn more about what you're looking for to make sure your personalities will match!
Schedule Your Meet-N-Sniff
Discuss a convenient time and place to meet. We prefer neutral locations or adoption events where you'll experience no pressure.
Submit Your Application
After you find your new companion, complete your adoption form and contract. Submit your completed contracts for review.
Home Check
Once approved, we'll arrange to drop off your new pet and complete a home check. A home check is standard for every adoption and takes less than half an hour. We require it to ensure all our pets are placed into clean, safe environments.
One Week Trial
We provide a one-week trial before completing any adoption. Our goal is to place pets into forever homes, and a test run is the best way to see how our pets respond to you and your environment. If at any time during that week you don't wish to move forward, you can arrange a pickup — no questions asked. After the trial, if it's a great fit, we'll provide all records and paperwork and complete the adoption.
